Our friends at Three were looking for an entertaining and memorable way to show customers that they can use their phones abroad at no extra cost, so they set us to work. Of the 45 applicable worldwide destinations, Ibiza was one… and who are we to pass up an excuse for a trip to the ‘Feel at Home’ island?
We put together a taskforce of in-character airline workers, who proceeded to take over a series of 70s and 80s themed pool parties at Pikes Hotel and Ocean Beach Club. Replete with some themed props – including branded cooling sprays, fans and a giant Three mirror ball – they provided the quintessential holiday experience, prompting countless selfies and a torrent of social media sharing.
Over two nights, the event generated some heavy internet traffic. Joe Sugg’s video alone gained over 500,000 views, along with an impressive 26,400 engagements and well over 2,200 click-throughs to the ‘Feel at Home’ web page. All in all, Three’s accounts clocked up an organic reach of over 58,000, and the #holidayspam hashtag gained solid traction with ‘Feel at Home’ related destinations.
